McGee Creek and Mt. Morgan in Winter
On February 9, 2017 a deep snow pack blankets the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains above Crowley Lake, California. A line of pine and aspen trees line the banks of McGee Creek, which tumbles down out the John Muir Wilderness in Inyo National Forest. They are dwarfed by the scale of Mt. Morgan's Nevahbe Ridge. Meanwhile at bottom center of the picture a motor home cruises southbound down US Highway 395. The black and white panorama image is a composite of twelve vertical frames exposed with a Nikon 400mm lens from Benton Crossing Road, about ten miles away.
